Dr. Jeong gained a particular interest in pain management through painful personal experiences. He was diagnosed with spondylolysis as a teen and realized how quickly pain could devastate one’s quality of life. He couldn’t stand without a lumbar support brace for over five years in his teenage years. This was part of the reason why he decided to become a Korean Medicine Doctor(K.M.D.) specializing in pain management and started a journey of struggling to control pain and improve his patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Jeong received western and traditional medical education at Dongshin University in South Korea for six years. Then he completed an internship and residency at the National Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea. In addition to his work at a general hospital in Korea from 2006 to 2010, Dr. Jeong established a private clinic in Korea from 2013 to 2018, specializing in pain management. Overall Dr. Jeong has performed 100,000+ acupuncture treatments and treated 10,000+ patients. Through experiences in both western and eastern medicine, Dr. Jeong’s mission is to serve as a bridge for the two fields of medicine together. He hopes the patient benefits from authentic integrative medicine. Because of his commitment to the functional improvement of the human body, Dr. Jeong was also certified as a personal trainer(ACSM), which provides him additional insights to provide excellent care.
Dr. Jeong has been teaching Systematic Acupuncture for pain since 2015 to thousands of Korean medical doctors across South Korea. He lives in the DC Metro area with his wife, son, and daughter. Dr. Jeong has enjoyed weight-lifting for many years, and also he likes trekking, cycling, and traveling.
