Dr. Kang graduated from Dongguk University College of Korean Medicine, where she encountered Korean Medicine and brought it into her life. She studied both Western and Eastern Medicine for 6 years and became a Korean Medicine Doctor.
Dr. Kang began her clinical career as an intern and resident at the National Medical Center in Seoul, the largest public medical institution in Korea. After four years of intensive clinical training, she became a board-certified specialist in Oriental Neuropsychiatry. Her academic interests led her also obtain get her master’s degree in Oriental Gynecology. Her master’s thesis, titled “The use of acupuncture for managing gynecological conditions: An overview of systematic reviews”, was published in Maturitas (Impact factor 3.63), the official journal of the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS) in 2011.
Dr. Kang has treated numerous patients with diverse medical conditions, including neuropsychiatric and gynecologic conditions. Over a few years, she established her own clinic in South Korea and has built up her experience.
Since 2020, Dr. Kang has been teaching acupuncture and Oriental medicine to students at the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine.
In Korean Medicine, body and mind are not separated. Many diseases and disorders in modern society are related to stress and problems of the mind. It was this relationship between mind and body that led Dr. Kang to become a specialist in neuropsychiatry. Her goal is to heal both the body and mind of the patients to get their life back to normal and beyond.
